 After nearly seven years without container movement, the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) is preparing to re-enter the cargo business, marking a much-anticipated revival for Goa’s maritime sector. The last container shipment moved through the port in 2018, after which operations went dormant due to limited cargo volumes and logistical challenges. Now, with renewed commercial demand and improved terminal infrastructure, the port has scheduled the restart of services for late November 2025.
