In a major step towards improving interstate mobility, the Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTC) has launched three new luxury bus services from Goa. The routes will connect the state with Ballari and Indi in Karnataka and Admapur (Kolhapur) in Maharashtra, fulfilling a long-standing demand for accessible, comfortable travel options. A KTC official said the initiative is aimed at addressing the transportation needs of migrant workers who regularly travel between Goa and neighbouring states. “The launch of these new services will enhance the inter-state bus network, particularly to the Hubballi–Hospet region that was without our bus services for nearly a decade,” the official explained. In a major move to address the waste management crisis in the commercial capital, the Margao Municipal Council has finalised a tripartite agreement with the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) and Pune-based GD Environmental Pvt Ltd for setting up a 10 TPD gasification plant at the Sonsodo waste management facility. The project is being developed as a scientific alternative to the long-standing problem of burning and dumping of mixed garbage.
