Goa Marks World Mental Health Day 2025, Highlights Success of Tele MANAS Initiative


 

The State Tele MANAS Goa, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services, commemorated World Mental Health Day 2025 at the South Goa District Hospital, Margao, with the theme “Access to service: mental health in catastrophes and emergencies.”

The event was attended by key officials, including Dr. Rupa Naik, Dr. Rajnanda Desai, Dr. Geeta Deshmukh, Frazella De Araujo, Dr. Sandesh Madkaikar, and Dr. Rajendra Borkar, who shared insights on strengthening mental health infrastructure and accessibility across Goa.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane highlighted the pivotal role of Tele MANAS, which has received over 20,000 calls, offering timely counselling and psychological support.

He reiterated Goa’s commitment to building a compassionate and inclusive state, ensuring that mental health services remain accessible to all, especially during emergencies.
