Anmol Bishnoi Deported from US: NIA Custody in Baba Siddique Murder, Sidhu Moose Wala Case

 

Anmol Bishnoi, the 24-year-old brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and one of India's most-wanted fugitives, was deported from the United States and arrived in Delhi on Wednesday, immediately taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and produced before Patiala House Court amid heightened security. Anmol faces at least 18 criminal cases across Delhi, Punjab, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, including the October 2024 murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, the May 2022 assassination of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, and the March 2024 firing outside Bollywood star Salman Khan's Bandra residence—alleged retaliations in the Lawrence gang's turf wars.

Anmol, arrested in Bakersfield, California, earlier in 2025 after evading capture since fleeing India in 2021 on a forged passport, was deported following a months-long process involving FBI coordination with Indian agencies. The first image of him in custody, shared by ANI, shows the hooded suspect flanked by NIA officers in a Delhi convoy. Produced before a special NIA court, Anmol was remanded for interrogation; his lawyer sought bail citing "family reasons," but the agency highlighted flight risk given his international network.

Cousin's Plea for Safety Amid Family Vendetta Fears

Anmol's cousin Ramesh Bishnoi urged the Centre to ensure his protection: "He's being punished only for being Lawrence's brother—we respect law but demand safety during custody." Ramesh, speaking to ANI, emphasized the family's law-abiding stance, noting Anmol's "unjust targeting" in the gang's shadow.

Victim's Son Demands Probe: Baba Siddique Family's Response

Baba Siddique's son Zeeshan Siddique, registered as a US victim in the murder case, welcomed the deportation: "We got federal alerts; now Mumbai Police must question him for motive behind my father's killing and Salman firing." Zeeshan highlighted Anmol's alleged orchestration from abroad, calling him a "societal threat."
